Corporate (company) law in Slovakia

Corporate law belongs to the most important fields of interest in our Law firm. Company law is also known as company law or corporations law.

Corporate law is the study of how shareholders, directors, employees, creditors, and other stakeholders such as consumers, the community and the environment interact with one another. Corporate law is a part of a broader companies law (or law of business associations).
Our law firm has served as counsel to many businesses from their initial formation through many stages of growth in Slovakia. We use our extensive knowledge of business and corporate law practices in Slovak republic to help business people understand their options for taking full advantage of market opportunities here.

Whether you are interested in a startup business, need help with personnel policies, or need documents reviewed prior to a real estate transaction, our lawyers can help. Our clients range from local closely held corporations and partnerships to international businesses.

Corporate law is a law of copmanies too. Our Law firm is involved in setting up companies limited by shares and advising on buying and selling businesses. We also advise on amendments and implications of memorandum of association and articles of association; shareholders agreements and directors’ and trustees’ responsibilities.

Our knowledge of the legal problems that businesses of all sizes face can help you manage risk, avoid liability and compete effectively in your market. We assist businesses in purchasing other businesses whether incorporated on unincorporated.

The defining feature of a corporation is its legal independence from the people who create it. If a corporation fails, its shareholders will lose their money, and employees will lose their jobs, though disproportionately affecting its workers as opposed to its upper executives. Shareholders, however owning a part piece of the company, are not liable for debts that remain owing to the corporation's creditors. This is called limited liability.
